Progetto Erasmus+: RObots BOosts Skills – A.S. 2017-2018 e 2018-2019
L’ITIS Q. Sella di Biella è risultata vincitrice, assieme ad altre 6 scuole e enti formativi di Italia, Spagna, Portogallo, Croazia e Romania, del progetto Erasmus+ RObots BOosts Skills.
Il progetto, di durata biennale, è nella sua fase di avvio.
Prevede la partecipazione di 20 studenti del terzo anno (Liceo Scientifico Scienze Applicate e Istituto Tecnico) a una serie di iniziative volte alla maturazione di competenze tecnico-scientifiche sull’uso della robotica, in particolare sull’utilizzo di Arduino.
A partire dal mese di Marzo, i 20 studenti selezionati, parteciperanno a un corso pomeridiano, che avrà come argomento trainante la robotica implementata tramite piattaforma Arduino compatibile.
A partire da settembre, si svolgerà la seconda parte del corso, riguardante la realizzazione di piccoli robot finalizzati alla successiva fase del progetto: la competizione interna alla nostra scuola volta a selezionare i 5 studenti che parteciperanno, nel 2019, all’evento finale che si terrà in Spagna (nei pressi di Valencia).
Through the Europe 2020 strategy, the European Union plans to support young people better and to enable them to fully develop their talents to their own as well as to their economy’s and society’s benefit.
One of the main obstacles to the full achievement of this ambitious objective is the persistent high rate of youngsters leaving school before having completed their compulsory learning pathway and before having achieved a certification that guarantee to them to be competitive within the job market.
In the “Tackling early school leaving: A key contribution to the Europe 2020 Agenda” document a close connection between early school leaving and unemployment has been highlighted and declared “In 2009, 52% of early school leavers in the EU were unemployed or outside the labour market. Even when they are in work, they earn less, tend to be in more precarious jobs, and are more often dependent on social assistance. They participate less in lifelong learning and thus re-training. Their educational disadvantage can create a growing handicap for them.
Teachers could enhance pupils’ motivation to learn and to stay at school through programming ROBOTS as teaching and learning tool for promoting students interest in ASTEM and active participation to school activities.
The SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES of the Project will be:
-To grow I-VET students’ transversal skills and key competences such as digital competences,entrepreneurship, critical thinking, problem solving learning to learn.. using ESTEAM concepts
-To encourage equally both male and female I- VETstudents to pursue education and careers in ESTEAM-related fields, inspire them to become innovators, and enhance basic skills on ESTEAM area
-To support teaching with effective, structured and curriculum-relevant teaching solutions for ESTEAM for motivating students and promoting personal fulfilment and development, social inclusion, active citizenship and employment in the digital era using ROBOTS
-To create innovative solutions to face today’s challeges in the collaborative economy and new robots bussines models
-To design, build, program and test robots using real-world engineering process and ESTEAM concepts
-To became involved in local, regional, national and European Community
-To participate in European, national, regional and local tournaments enhancing tansversal skills and key competences using ESTEAM concepts.
-To stablish an solid framework to internazionalizate the activities of the VET institutions
